If you’re looking to earn money online, you’re not alone! There are so many platforms where you can make money by leveraging your skills, from writing to social media content. In this guide, I’ll walk you through the sites that paid me during January, how I made money from each, and tips for getting started.
1. Medium ($XXX) 📝
I’m a writer in the Medium Partner Program (MPP), where I get paid based on the reading time of Medium members. Here’s how you can get started:
- Sign up as a writer on Medium.
- Create valuable content to attract readers.
- Join the Partner Program if available in your country.
Even if you’re outside the MPP, you can still make money using affiliate links, selling products, or offering services in your articles.
2. Newsbreak ($XXX) 📰
Newsbreak pays contributors based on the number of views their stories get. It’s U.S.-only for now, so make sure you’re eligible before signing up. If you enjoy writing news-based content or trending topics, this platform can be a great way to monetize your writing.
How to get started:
- Sign up as a contributor.
- Write and post news-related stories.
- Watch your income grow as your content gains traction.
3. Gumroad ($XXX) 💻
I sell digital products like ebooks and courses on Gumroad. This platform allows you to set up a simple online store and sell directly to your audience.
Getting started:
- Create an account on Gumroad.
- Upload your digital products.
- Promote your products to your audience via social media and email.
Gumroad takes a small fee, but the ease of use and control over your products makes it worth it!
4. TikTok ($XXX) 🎥
Though TikTok didn’t pay me directly, I earned money through brand deals. Brands found my TikTok account and paid me to create sponsored content for them. You can also promote and sell your digital products directly on TikTok.
Tip for monetizing:
- Post engaging content that attracts brands.
- Collaborate with brands or promote your own products.
5. TikTok Shop ($XX) 🛍️
TikTok Shop is one of my newest income streams! As an affiliate, I get samples from vendors, create videos about their products, and earn commissions from sales.
Steps to get started:
- Join TikTok Shop as an affiliate.
- Create content showcasing products.
- Link products and earn commissions when viewers purchase them.
6. Instagram ($X,XXX) 📸
Instagram is a top platform for me, especially for brand deals and selling digital products. I use my faceless Instagram account to post daily reels that attract engagement.
How I make money:
- Run brand deals with companies.
- Use affiliate links and product promotions in posts and stories.
- Sell digital products directly to followers.
7. Empire Flippers ($XXX) 🌐
Empire Flippers is a marketplace where you can buy and sell websites. I’ve been flipping websites and making money from brand deals for my sites.
How to start:
- List your website for sale or buy a profitable site.
- Run brand deals or sell ad space on the website to generate income.
8. Threads ($XXX) 🧵
Although Threads doesn’t pay directly, I use it to promote and sell my digital products. By posting consistently, I drive traffic to my sales page.
How to monetize:
- Post valuable content to your audience.
- Use calls-to-action to drive sales for your products.
9. Mediavine ($XXX) 📈
I monetize my blog through Mediavine, an ad network that places ads on my website. It’s a passive income stream where I get paid based on the number of views and clicks my ads generate.
How to get started:
- Join Mediavine when you have enough traffic.
- Allow Mediavine to place ads on your blog and start earning!
10. PayPal ($XXX) 💳
For direct transactions, I invoice clients through PayPal for digital products. Additionally, I receive affiliate commissions through PayPal, which is a convenient way to manage payments.
Tip:
- Set up PayPal for easy invoicing and receiving payments from different platforms.
Payment Methods 🏦
Most of these platforms allow you to receive payments via PayPal or bank transfer, but in Europe, I also use Sikirapay Credit Card, a great option that provides easy access to earnings across various platforms. You can use it to shop online or withdraw funds directly from ATMs, making it a versatile choice for European creators.
