How to Set Up Your SikiraPay Account – Step by Step Instructions

In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the complete sign-up and verification process inside the app. If you’ve already downloaded and installed SikiraPay, you’re ready to get started—just follow the steps below.

🥇 Step 1: Launch the SikiraPay App

Once you’ve downloaded and installed SikiraPay from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), open the app. The first screen you’ll see is the login screen.

Since you’re setting up a new account, tap on “Sign up” at the bottom of the screen.

✌️ Step 2: Fill in Your Details to Create an Account

Now it’s time to create your SikiraPay account.

Enter the following details:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Country (automatically detected or choose manually)
  • Phone number (with country code)
  • Date of birth

Once all fields are complete, tap the “Continue” button to proceed.

🔐 Step 3: Create a Secure Password

Next, you’ll need to create a strong password for your SikiraPay account.

Your password must meet the following requirements:

  • At least 8 characters
  • At least one uppercase letter (A–Z)
  • At least one lowercase letter (a–z)
  • At least one number (0–9)
  • At least one symbol (e.g., !, @, #)

Enter your new password in both fields to confirm, then tap “Continue”.

✉️ Step 4: Confirm Your Email Address

After setting your password, SikiraPay will send a 6-digit confirmation code to the email address you provided.

Check your inbox for an email from SikiraPay and enter the code into the boxes shown on the screen.

Didn’t see the email? Make sure to also check your Spam or Junk folder — sometimes automated messages can land there.

If needed, you can tap “Resend” to request a new code.

Once the code is entered correctly, the “Sign up” button will become active. Tap it to complete the registration.

🆔 Step 5: Activate Your Account by Completing KYC

To start using your account, you need to verify your identity. Tap on the notification that says “Activate your account – Pass KYC to activate account”.

Note: Completing KYC is mandatory to enable transactions and full access to your SikiraPay features.

📝 Step 6: Start the KYC Process

Before your account is fully activated, you’ll need to verify your identity.

Tap the “Continue” button to begin the KYC process.

📲 Step 7: Verify Your Phone Number

As part of the identity verification, you’ll be asked to confirm your phone number.

SikiraPay will send a verification code via SMS to the mobile number you used during registration.

Enter the SMS code to proceed.

🏠 Step 8: Enter Your Residential and Citizenship Details

Fill in the following fields accurately:

  • Street Address
  • City
  • Region/State (if applicable)
  • Postal Code
  • Country
  • Citizenship(s)

If you’re a tax resident in more than one country, make sure to check the appropriate box and enter additional information.

Tip: Make sure your information matches your ID exactly to avoid delays in verification.

Once all fields are complete, tap the “Continue” button to proceed.

📄 Step 9: Upload Proof of Address

To complete your KYC verification, you’ll need to provide a valid proof of address.

SikiraPay accepts the following types of documents:

  • Utility bills (landline phone, internet, electricity, water, or gas)
  • Bank account statement
  • Documents issued by a government authority

Important: Your document must be dated within the last 3 months and clearly display your full name and address. Mobile phone bills are not accepted.

Upload the file using the “Upload Proof of Address” option, then tap Continue to move forward.

💰 Step 10: Provide Transactional Information

You’ll need to select appropriate options for the following fields:

  • Purpose of Account – Why you’re opening this account (e.g., savings, business, personal use)
  • Monthly value of incoming transfers – An estimate of your expected usage
  • Origin of funds – Where your money typically comes from (e.g., salary, investments)
  • Annual income – Your total expected income for the year

Once complete, tap Continue to move to the next step.

🏛️ Step 11: Declare Your PEP Status

In this step, SikiraPay asks if you or a close family member is a Politically Exposed Person (PEP).

A PEP is someone who holds (or has recently held) a high-ranking public role — such as a government official, diplomat, or executive in an international organization like the UN or NATO.

Select “Yes” or “No” based on your situation, then tap Continue.

This question is a standard part of global compliance checks and helps ensure secure and transparent financial practices.

🔐 Step 12: Set Up Your Passcode

You will need to create a secure 6-digit passcode.

This passcode will be used to authorize important financial operations, such as transfers and payments.

Choose a code that’s easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess. Avoid using obvious numbers like 123456 or your birth date.

🔐 Step 13: Confirm Your Passcode

To make sure there are no mistakes, SikiraPay asks you to re-enter the 6-digit passcode you just created.

This is a standard security step to ensure your chosen code is intentional and accurate.

👆 Step 14: Enable Biometrics (Optional)

To make logging in even faster and more secure, SikiraPay offers the option to use biometric authentication.

Tap Add if you’d like to enable Face ID or Touch ID (depending on your device).

If you prefer not to use biometrics, simply tap “Not now” — you can enable it later in settings.

📇 Step 15: Choose Your Verification Method

After setting up your security preferences, you’ll be asked to choose how you’d like to complete identity verification.

You have two options:

  • I have electronic ID – Fastest method, using a government-approved digital ID
  • I don’t have electronic ID – You can upload an image of the passport or ID instead

Once you’re ready, tap Continue to start the secure verification process. Make sure you’re in a well-lit environment and have your document ready.

You’ll see two options:

  • All countries except USA
  • United States of America

Select the option that applies to you, then tap Continue.

🗂️ Step 18: Choose Your Document Type and Issuing Country

Start by selecting:

  • Issuing country – The country that issued your ID (e.g., Sweden)
  • Document type – Choose between an ID card, passport, or driver’s license

Depending on the country, the choice of ID may vary.

After selecting both fields, tap Continue to proceed with uploading the document.

Now that you’ve selected your document, it’s time to upload it. Helpful tips to ensure your document is accepted on the first try:

  • Scan in a well-lit room — Avoid shadows or dim lighting
  • Watch out for reflections — Especially on glossy passport pages
  • Do not edit the image — No filters, cropping, or modifications

🎥 Step 20: Allow Camera Access

In order to verify your identity, SikiraPay needs access to your device’s camera. This is required to:

  • 📸 Scan your ID document
  • 🎥 Record your short identity verification video

Tap Continue and when prompted, tap Allow to grant camera access. If you’d rather upload an existing image instead, you can select Upload document.

Make sure you’re in a well-lit environment and hold the camera steady when scanning.

You have two options:

  • Take photo: Use your device camera to take a clear photo.
  • Upload document: Select an existing image or PDF file from your phone.

Important tips:

  • Ensure the photo is taken in a well-lit space
  • Make sure all text and details are readable
  • Do not crop, edit, or apply filters to the document

Once your document is captured or uploaded, tap Continue to proceed.

🎥 Step 22: Make a Short Video for Verification

To finalize identity verification, you will be asked to record a short selfie video. This step ensures your presence and validates the authenticity of your document.

✔️ Make sure:

  • You’re in a well-lit room
  • No other people are visible around you
  • Your device’s camera and microphone are working
  • You are not using any mask or face-altering software

When ready, tap Continue to proceed.

You’re now ready to record a short video as part of your identity verification. When the prompt appears, pronounce the numbers shown clearly.

  • Look directly into the camera
  • Tap the red record button to start
  • Clearly say the digits on the screen
  • Press stop when you’re done

Step 24: Review and Upload Your Video

After recording, you can preview your video.

  • If you’re satisfied, click “Upload video and continue.”
  • Otherwise, tap “Retake video” to try again.

Step 25: Your Data is Being Processed

The system will now process your uploaded identity document and verification video. This usually takes a few moments.

“Your profile has been verified” means you’re now fully onboarded and ready to use the platform.

At this point, your submitted identity documents and video verification are under final review. In most cases, this process is fully automated and takes just a few minutes.

However, depending on:

  • Document quality
  • Clarity of video/audio
  • Type of ID used

— the review may take up to a couple of hours for manual validation.

There’s no action needed from your side. You’ll be notified once the process is complete.
